Marriage Registration (KONIN-TODOKE)
- Between Japanese and Foreign resident.
- Between Foreign residents.
Marriage in Japan: In accordance with applicable Japanese laws, please submit marriage registration to city/town/village hall.
Marriage abroad: Please have marriage certificate issued from an appropriate administrative office of the country that the marriage took place. Then submit the marriage certificate to Japanese embassy or consulate, or a city/town/village hall where your domicile of origin is registered within 3 months from the marriage date.
Marriage registration between foreign citizens may be submitted to a city/town/village hall in Japan.
Marriage Registration Procedure at Chino City Hall
- Please submit your marriage registration at Civic Affaires Division (Shimin-ka) #2 (ext. 252)
- Applier: Husband or wife
- Documents needed for marriage registration:
Marriage Registration Form signed by two adults as witnesses.
Passport
Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage and its Japanese translation.
Copy of Family Registration of a spouse, when he/she is Japanese and whose domicile of origin is not registered in Chino.
Other Proceedings related to Marriage Registration
- Please report your marriage to an appropriate administrative office of your country. Make an inquiry to the embassy or consulate of your country for details.
- Please report your marriage to Immigration Office and change your resident status.
