Private apartments/Houses

・Finding a rental apartment house is through a real estate agent.

・You have to pay a deposit before entering a house or apartment

・You have to bring your alien registration card, income taxation and dependent care certification.

Public housing (Kenei-jutaku/ Shiei-jutaku)

Foreigners (and their family members) with permanent resident status, or with special permanent resident status, or those who have resided in Japan for one year or longer, or have obtained a status of residence of one year or longer are eligible to apply to live in public housing managed by the prefecture.

・When you live or work in Nagano Prefecture.

・When your annual household income is lower than the regulated income.
